The LZ shall have a clear approach and departure paths as this is needed for airspeed. It is very hard and requires all of the helicopters power to lift stright up out of an LZ. During summer months, lift off from the LZ can be very stressfull for the aircraft.
The LZ area has to be made secure!
Assign personnel to all access points and deny entry.
Includes emergency vehicles and personnel.
The LZ should be marked with 4 flares (night time) or cones (day time) at each corner.
ALL white lights turned off when aircraft is overhead, in LZ and departing. White light decreases the abilities of the pilots night vision and may cause temporary blindness. All lights should remain off during operation including headlights of bystanders and emergency vehicles and includes camera flashes.
