Bill Bruck, Flight Nurse
Bill has a Bachelor in Science of Nursing from Widener University and is currently pursuing his MSN at The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Bill holds national certifications as a Critical Care Registered Nurse from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Certified Flight Registered Nurse from the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing and Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute. Bill’s hobbies include taking care of his horses, dogs, a cat and a peacock on his 30 acre farm in Cumberland County. Bill started his medical career in 1990.
Mariko Deal, Flight Nurse
Mariko attended Eastern College for her Registered Nurse and is currently enrolled in the Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Rowan University. Mariko holds national certification as a Critical Care Registered Nurse. Mariko hobbies include running a rabbit rescue shelter that takes in abused and unwanted rabbits and finds good homes for them. She also likes classical music, ballet, modern dance and theater. In her off time likes to ride a bike, take an aerobics class and read murder mysteries. Mariko started her medical career in 1985.
Gen Deltieure, Flight Nurse
Gen has a Bachelors of Science in Nursing Rutgers University with membership in Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and is currently working towards her Masters of Science in Emergency/Critical Care Nursing from Widener University. Gen holds national certifications as a Critical Care Registered Nurse. Gen has owned Samoyeds since 1976 and has shown them to multiple breed, obedience, agility, rally and herding titles. Gen has the most titled Samoyed in the history of the breed. All her dogs are Certified Therapy Dogs who visit patients in nursing homes, rehabilitation centers as well as a day care center for adults with autism. Gen also dabbles in writing full length films and has one presently entered in a screenwriting competition. Gen started her EMS career in 1986.
Bob Gardner, Flight Paramedic
Bob is currently completing his Associates of Science in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University. Bob holds national certification as a FEMA Medical Specialist. Bob currently serves as Battalion Chief Waterford Township Fire Department and is an instructor with the Camden County Emergency Training Center in Haz-Mat and Vehicle Rescue. Bob is also a Medical Specialist with New Jersey Task Force One (NJ-TF1) Urban Search and Rescue Team. Bob started his EMS career in 1994
Scott Hansen, Flight Paramedic
Scott has a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Glassboro State College. Scott is Regional Faculty Member for the American Heart Association. Scott’s hobbies include fishing and playing golf in his off time. Scott started his EMS career in 1978.
Richard S. Harris, Flight Nurse
Rich has a Bachelor in Science of Nursing from Seton Hall University. Rich is a Certified Emergency Nurse. Rich’s hobbies include spending time with his family, hiking, biking and cooking. Rich started his medical career in 1984.
Derrick E. Jacobus, Flight Paramedic
Derrick will be completing his Master of Arts in Public Administration from American Public University System December 2010 and has a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Services from Drexel University. Derrick is Nationally Registered as a Paramedic. Derrick is a Monroe Township Police Officer and his hobbies include camping, cycling, and running. He enjoys life long learning as he has been a student since graduating high school. Derrick started his EMS career in 1998.
Bob Kulpa, Flight Paramedic
Bob is currently completing an Associate Degree in Nursing from Excelsior College. Bob has his Flight Paramedic Certification through the Board for Critical Care Transport Paramedic Certification and is a Nationally Registered Paramedic. Bob spends his off time with his family, playing his guitar, riding his motorcycle and coaching Little League. Bob is also an avid Phillies fan and likes to fish, hunt, and spend time in the outdoors. Bob started his EMS career in 1996.
Chuck McSweeney, Flight Paramedic
Chuck has a Masters in Science of Public Safety from Saint Joseph’s University, a Bachelors of Science in Emergency Medical Services Management from Hahnemann/Drexel University, and an Associates Degree in Allied Health Services from Camden County College. Chuck is certified as a Nationally Registered Paramedic, Critical Care Paramedic through the University of Maryland- Baltimore, and a Certified Medical Transport Executive by the Association of Air Medical Services. Chuck is Regional Faculty for the American Heart Association through Drexel University College of Medicine. Chuck is certified as a personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Chuck is a managing partner of EMS Consulting Services. Chuck serves as a Deputy EMS County Coordinator in Burlington County. Chuck enjoys his off time relaxing at his home in Rehoboth Beach with his family and yellow Labrador Retriever, Yawgie. Chuck started his EMS career in 1985.
Jim O’Connor, Flight Paramedic
Jim has his Associate of Sciences in Applied Sciences from Camden County College. Jim is Nationally Registered as a Paramedic. Jim likes to play his guitar and enjoys making people laugh. Jim also believes that he is a good cook, just looking for confirmation. Jim started his EMS career in 1983.
Jimmy Parker, Flight Paramedic
Jimmy is completing his Associates Degree in Paramedic Sciences from Camden County College. Jimmy is Nationally Registered as a Paramedic. Jimmy takes pleasure in spending time with close friends and family. He likes the beach and enjoys life to the fullest. Jimmy started his EMS career in 1998.
Karla Sangataldo, Flight Nurse
Karla will be completing her Masters of Science in Nursing Education from Grand Canyon University in April 2011. She has a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Delaware. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Karla has national certification as a Certified Emergency Nurse by the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing and Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing through National Certification Corporation. Karla enjoys her time off with her daughter Jill, Doberman Grey and Great Dane Jack. Hobbies include running, mountain biking, cooking, reading and traveling. Karla started her nursing career in 1985. Karla was recognized for clinical excellence by Virtua’s administration.
Joseph Schili, Flight Paramedic
Joe is advancing to complete his Nursing Degree from Camden County College. Joe has his Flight Paramedic Certification through the Board for Critical Care Transport Paramedic Certification and is a Nationally Registered Paramedic. Joe is also a Mid-Atlantic Regional Faculty of The Difficult Airway Course – EMS. Joe is also a Search Team Manager with New Jersey Task Force One (NJ-TF1) Urban Search and Rescue Team. Joe’s hobbies include rock climbing, SCUBA diving, surfing and snowboarding. Joe practices the martial art of Krav Maga and plays the bag pipes for the Emerald Society. Joe is a career firefighter with the Gloucester City Fire Department, where he has worked since 1993 as a captain assigned to a squad company. Joe started his EMS career in 1990.
Tim Seplaki, Flight Paramedic
Tim recently graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from George Washington University. Tim is a Nationally Registered Paramedic. When Tim is off, he enjoys water and snow skiing. He likes boating and pretty much anything that has to do with the outdoors. Tim started his EMS career in 1992.
Trish Tavani, Flight Nurse
Trish is currently enrolled in Thomas Edison State College working on her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Trish holds many national certifications including Certified Flight Nurse and Emergency Nurse by the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing, Critical Care Registered Nurse by AACN Certification Corporation. Trish is an avid reader and an active participant in animal rescue. She loves taking care of her dogs and nursing a cat she newly adopted back to health. Trish started her medical career in 1995.
Michael Williams, Flight Paramedic
Mike has his Bachelors of Science (Honours) Degree in Materials Science from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. Mike has his Flight Paramedic Certification through the Board for Critical Care Transport Paramedic Certification and is a Nationally Registered Paramedic. Mike is a huge baseball fan (Go Phillies!) and likes to explore the woods with “King” the best dog ever. He also completes the NY Times crossword puzzles daily, but not in pen! Mike started his EMS career 1988.
Linda Whitworth, Chief Flight Nurse
Linda has her Masters of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Widener University and is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Linda is a New Jersey State Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and holds a national certification as a Certified Emergency Nurse. Linda enjoys playing golf, working out at the gym and is a wine enthusiast. Linda started her EMS career 1976.
